I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you guys regarding going vegan. So I invited over my friend Teshia Maher, a talented yoga instructor and a holistic nutritionist, to make a quick video and share with all of you her Top 10 Tips on Becoming a Vegan in a healthy and sustainable way.
Even if you are not considering going vegan any time in the future or are already one, I highly recommend you watch this video as Teshia talks about many useful nutrition advices and healthy living tips that can be applied to any diet.
I’ve already mentioned it a few times that I was 100% vegan in 2012 for about 4 months. I turned to a vegan diet out of necessity. Back then, I was suffering from severe heartburn. And I mean it was BAD. At times, I felt like I was having a stroke and a heart attack at the same time; the pain was that unbearable.
No medication seemed to help. So I decided to give veganism a try. To my surprise, I wasn’t only able to defeat the heartburn by switching to a plant based diet, but also started feeling healthier overall. I was no longer getting random headaches during the day, started to sleep better and became a happier version of myself.
But I have to tell you the transition to this new diet, was not easy. Who knows, maybe if I knew some of Teshia’s transitioning tips at that time, I might have still been a vegan.
One of my 2014 resolutions is to go vegan again. I don’t know if it will be permanent this time or if I will do it for a few months again, but I do know that I’ve never felt that HEALTHY in my entire life until I tried a plant based diet. This time I want to do it in the healthiest way possible and to ensure that I transition with ease. I can’t wait to implement Teshia’s tips!
